Overview

Every child deserves access to stories that reflect who they are, broaden their perspectives, and remind them they belong. When representation and access come together, stories have the power to change how children see themselves and the world around them.

Rising Voices Library was created to expand access to inclusive literature by celebrating diverse voices, cultures, and lived experiences through thoughtfully curated educational content.

The challenge was to create more than a library collection. It was to build a platform that inspired educators, families, and communities to champion representation while making culturally responsive literature more visible, accessible, and impactful for the students who needed it most.

Partnering closely with Scholastic, loft135 helped shape the initiative through brand strategy, creative direction, campaign development, and project management. From visual identity and integrated marketing campaigns to event experiences, photography, video production, illustration, and audience engagement, every element was designed to strengthen the program's mission, increase awareness, and foster meaningful cultural connection.

As part of the initiative, loft135 also helped cultivate relationships with influential cultural voices, including John Leguizamo, Jaime Hector, and Sulma Brown, whose involvement expanded the program's reach and reinforced its commitment to representation, advocacy, and equitable access to diverse stories.

Results

The result was a cohesive brand and communications platform that elevated Rising Voices Library beyond a curated collection of books. By aligning strategy, storytelling, and community engagement, the initiative increased awareness, strengthened cultural relevance, and helped position Rising Voices as a platform dedicated to expanding access, celebrating diverse voices, and creating more inclusive learning experiences for children and educators.
